I've written a number of times before about the Vipassana meditation programs for prisons (see Oct 18th for the most recent). From Ian's group, I learned today that there are Transcendental Meditation (TM) programs in several prisons as well. Here is an article about such a program being conducted in Missouri

I'm not familiar with the details of the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-based Education and World Peace, but with plans to underwrite university classes in TM and provide startup funds to elementary schools looking to establish programs, my hope is for a balanced approach. I just hope the politicians don't make mince meat out of it!
