Chart Art, or chArt as coined by TOC (tradingoncoffee in echat), evolved in March 2005 when christophe, another Echat member, posted a new wild variation of an MA ribbon. The colorful effect was so striking, it took only moments for others to request christophe's original template and go completely wild with it.

Something wonderful must have been in the air as an explosion of variations on his theme materialized over the next few days. TOC's beautiful variations are posted over at the Ensign site. My imagination took a somewhat different direction and from the original ribbons, "city scapes, "people" (such as the Synapses image), and butterflies were soon making themselves known on my charts.

Here is a slide show of my stuff from that time. Howard collected a number of chArt examples on this page, and for more, try the charts labelled with TOC_xx.png on 24 Mar 2005, the ones with "large" next to them in particular.

Baby, yeah!

I imagine Austin Powers might enjoy wearing trousers patterned much like this chart.

Luna Sol

The moon rises over a "city scape" as the sun is setting.

Purple Haze

Jimmy Hendrix came to mind, although it is a close cousin to Austin Power's trousers.

Sea Creature

If one travelled to the deepest depths of the oceans, one might find one of these charting the oceanic trench floors.

Ship Convoy

A ghost ship, plunging through ethereal waters...

Stringz

This happens to be a close cousin to the original "MA ribbon", but a regressed MA rides through it like a rogue thread

Synapses

This is my personal favorite, and much iconic of the other side. The seven chakras are intertwined with neural zaps across synapses, floating on an oceanic rainbow of energy.

The Wall

The wall comes tumbling down

Tunnel

as it goes it, it will go out

Web

A variant of The Tunnel, only here there is entanglement

XOI Number 1

XOI is the Oil Index, and to me, these looked a bit like little derricks

XOI Number 2

XOI is the Oil Index, and to me, these looked a bit like little derricks. Little did I realize at the time that indeed, the XOI would look like this later in the year.

Amazonian Butterflies

These are actual "Butterfly" patterns on price, with Regression channel overlays. Of course, this is 4-Fun, as it is titled. The snake-like regression channel is an artifact of using the new "bow-tie" color fill option on a rising/falling center band.
