actio-et-reactio: for every action there is a reaction. In the background is a sketch by Leonardo da Vinci-teeter-totter- a symbol of how tenuous is the balance between extremes

Chart Art

Chart Art, or chArt as coined by TOC (tradingoncoffee in Echat), evolved in March 2005 when christophe, another Echat member, posted a wildly imaginative variation of an MA ribbon.

Something wonderful must have been in the air as an explosion of variations on this theme materialized over the next few days.

Here is a slide show of my chart art from that time. Howard collected a number of chArt examples on this page, and for more, try the charts labelled with TOC_xx.png on 24 Mar 2005, the ones with "large" next to them in particular.

ed: Just in case it isn't obvious-- these Charts have nothing to do with *trading*. They are imaginative designs using charts, studies, and of course, price bars, as "paint" on the chart "canvas".

moon phases

At last, over the rim
of the waiting earth
the moon lifted with
slow majesty
till it swung clear of the horizon and rode off,
free of moorings

The Wind in the Willows
